UKANA GASPLANT (NIGERIA)
The Ukana field is a marginal gas field situated in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The Ukana field development involves the installation of a Gas Processing Plant designed to process a quantity of 60 MMscfd of sweet natural gas.
The current plan is to deliver the gas from the field into the nearby Gaslink pipeline. Therefore a tie-in pipeline will be required to connect the field to the Gaslink pipeline. Other gas utilization options include stripping of valuable hydrocarbon liquids, Integrated Powerplant (IPP) or a Gas-To-Liquids (GTL) plant. A combination of these options is possible. The gasplant is at a conceptual stage.
